Lagoon 2012

Ok well I was looking at our blog and realized I have really been a bad blogger.  Chris has at least put a few updates on here, then I was looking at pics I maybe could put on here.  Ok, i have been a bad photgrapher as well.  I am going to repent and change my ways!!

As part of Analise being on a competion clogging team she gets to go to a National competion at Lagoon and this year her cousing L also got to go with her team. They really had fun riding the rides together and we got to ride up with Aunt K and Uncle M.

Our Kitchen Island

We haven't posted any pictures of our finished house, but here is our latest project - we built an island for our kitchen.  We have a few finishing  details left, but it turned out pretty good.  We used three stock cabinets from Lowes, attached 3/4" particle board and laminate on the top, and trimmed the edges with oak.  It's 42" wide and 62" long.  Not too bad for a couple of amateurs.

We had a Cultural Night at church a few weeks ago and Analise clogged there with some members of her competition team.  See if you can figure out where she is; the video quality isn't the best (hint: she starts out second from the left).

Bear Lake 2011

Made our annual trek to Bear Lake last month.  Everyone's favorite part of the trip are the days on the beach.  This year the water level was back up to "normal" so we didn't have to hike 100 yards to get to the water.  In fact, the south side of the lake didn't have any beaches, so the north beaches were very crowded.

Shooting with the Girls

Chris took Sage and Analise shooting Saturday.  It was the first time either of the girls had handled a gun and ammunition together.  After a safety session, everyone shot a .22 cal rifle and pistol.  The girls had a lot of fun, and I think they'll go again when given the opportunity.

Clogging with Sage

Sage wrapped up her clogging year with a recital.  She probably won't continue dancing after this year, but has enjoyed her time clogging.  She's ready to move back to karate.

Clogging Nationals Grand Champion!

Analise and her team participated in their final competition a few weeks ago.  The Nationals competition was held at Lagoon in Farmington, Utah.  Analise and her team placed first for both of their dances with one performance earning them Grand Champion accolades in the Beginner category.

Scoring for clogging competitions is a little different.  Numerous individuals/teams can earn first place marks; they just have to score above a certain threshold.  However, from those first place earners a grand champion is selected.

We were all very excited for Analise and her team (the "Dazzlers").  They did a great job!

Pocatello clogging Competition

Analise took part in another clogging competition and her team took first place for both of their performances.  She's having a lot of fun, and it's a lot of fun watching her.

Sage and the Band

Sage participated in another band concert.  She has been first chair clarinet with the sixth grade band; however, she and another girl in her class both scored identically on their test, so the band instructor decided to give the other girl a chance to play first chair.

Sage has learned to play the clarinet fairly quickly.  She has a hard time playing the higher notes, but she's getting there.  We think it might be because she has too much hot air.  Maybe she should have chosen to play the tuba instead.

Sage had a birthday!!!

Can you believe that Sage is 12 yrs old? Holy Cow!! Her mom had some fabulous party ideas, but Sage decided to go downtown Boise for some fun. We went to the Zoo and then to the Idaho History Museum, then we headed out to Aunt Libs to sing and have cake with Sage's little cousin, who turned 3. Here are some pictures.

Clogging Competition - Nampa

Analise had her first clogging competition today.  Her team name is the "Dazzlers".  She and the other girls did a wonderful job.  Analise is on the far left to begin with.  (This is a large file, so it may take a little while before you see it.)

School Pictures 2010

The girls got their pictures taken at school.  They turned out pretty well.  Our little girls aren't so little any more.

Halloween 2010

We had a three-ward trunk-or-treating event at the church last night.  Sage dressed up as Artemis and Lise was Cleopatra.  Brenden and Ella Rowley joined us for the evening as well.

Christopher "Officially" out of Air Force

Well, after 11+ years in the Air Force, 3 moves, 5 deployments, Chris has finally seperated.  It has and will continue to be an adjustment for us all, but hopefully the pros with outnumber the cons.  He is currently enrolled at BSU in some accounting classes.  He stopped working a couple of months ago, but his last day was the 11th. We are very proud of him and grateful for his willingness to serve and protect America.  So, here's to many happy and healthy years out of the military :)  We love you, Christopher!!

Amidst everything that has been going on, Analise turned 10.  She had a really fun party at the YMCA.  It has a huge water facility as well as a climbing wall.  She was so excited to invite her cousins this year!!  She almost had a cousins only party, but in the end she invited some new friends from school and church.  I have some really bad pictures, (should have taken the big camera)  but we still had a good time and hope everyone else did as well.
