Sage, an artist and a poet

Toward the end of school, Sage's class had an art and poetry day. The kids read poems they had written with lights turned low and all the parents as an audience. Each child had written a little biography about themselves as introduction and then read their poems.

Emotion
Red is a color of peacefulness.
It sounds like a cracling fire.
It taste like ice cream strawberry syrup.
It smells like big red roses.
It looks like my dad's red t-shirt.
It feels like my soft red blanket.

Cheetah
Cheetahs are so big and fast,
in the race they won't be last.

Cheetahs have many a spot.
They live in a place that's really hot.

Cheetahs have 4 paws,
on each they have 5 claws.

After, the poem reading we had snacks and were able to look at around at their art projects. They had learned about different artist, and as they did they created art similar. For Divinci, they drew a "Mona Lisa", for Monet, a watercolor, for Michaleangelo they painted upside down, nder their desks. Sage didn't have nearly as much fun at school all year as she did her last 2 weeks getting ready for the art show.

Great Job, Sage
Thanks Mrs. Rodgers!!!
